Still time for preparing volumetric solutions yourself?!
Our ready-to-use 0.1 M hydrochloric acid Standard volumetric solution is one of our absolute bestsellers. It enables fast and reliable quantitative analysis by means of acid-base titration. Like all neoFroxx Standard volumetric solutions, the product is strictly tested by our quality control department. We guarantee a titer of 0.998 to 1.002 and thus a deviation of maximum 0.2 % of the indicated concentration.
There are many names for this procedure: Titration, titrimetry, volumetric analysis. Whatever you want to call it, it’s a chemical method for quantifying a known substance A in solution. To determine the concentration of this substance A (the “analyte”) in the sample, a specific chemical reaction is carried out with a chemical B of known concentration (the “titrant”). The solution of this chemical B is called a standard solution. The concentration of substance A in the sample can then be calculated very simply from the volume of the spent standard solution using the available reaction stoichiometry.
The end point (or turnover point) of the titration is observed in different ways depending on the type of reaction: by pH measurement (acid-base titration), a color change due to added indicators or complex formation (acid-base titration, complexometric titration, redox titration) or formation of a precipitate.
